Over 40 WKU students, set to graduate in May and become future educators, joined us for a special day of learning and exploration! As part of their preparation, they conducted classroom observations, toured our schools, and explored downtown Russellville. They also engaged in insightful Q&A sessions with students, teachers, principals, and instructional coaches.
This incredible opportunity came to life thanks to Mrs. Cornelius, Chief Operations Officer at RISD, who connected with Mr. Chris Stunson, Director of Professional Educator Services at WKU, to establish a partnership with our district for a Student-Teacher Drive-In Day. WKU was fully on board, and we are thrilled to host these aspiring educators!
This day marks a meaningful step for Russellville Independent School District, strengthening our connection with future teachers while showcasing the outstanding work happening in our schools. 🌟

Provide comfort for brave soles!
Believe it or not, one of the items that is most requested from Service Members and Veterans is socks!
Mrs.Triplett's Passion class is collecting men's and women's socks (new and in package) for our troops. This sock drive runs through March 31. We may have more locations as needed!

The Golden Panther Award: Celebrating Excellence at RISD

As part of our commitment to becoming a “District of Choice,” Russellville Independent School District is proud to introduce The Golden Panther Award, a new initiative designed to recognize the dedication and excellence of our staff. This program celebrates the remarkable contributions of both certified and classified employees who go above and beyond in their service to our students, families, and community. At the board meeting last night, Holly Behm and Janie Schock were given the FIRST ever Golden Panther Awards. The presentation was initiated by Robin Cornelius, and gave the staff members that nominated them a chance to show their appreciation to their colleagues. Each recipient of The Golden Panther Award also received a $100 prize.

RISD will be closed due to weather on February 20th. This will be NTI day #3 for students.

RISD will be hosting a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly for students in grades 4-12 at deGraffenried Auditorium on January 24, 2025
