Hiring Process

Application Process

Hiring Process

  1. Vetting and Eligibility: The candidate's application is reviewed to determine eligibility for the position.* Candidates who fulfill all requirements for the applied position are eligible and sent to the hiring Principal/Director. 
  2. Review: The hiring Principal/Director reviews eligible candidates' applications.
  3. Interview: The hiring Principal/Director will invite selected candidates for an interview. Candidates could receive a phone call or an email message to be invited for interviews. Please monitor your email.
  4. Recommendation: The hiring Principal/Director will submit a recommendation to hire to Human Resources.
  5. Approval: The recommendation to hire is reviewed and approved or disapproved by the Superintendent (contingent on background clearance).
  6. Job Offer: The candidate receives an official job offer (phone call and email from Principal/Director). If the candidate is not selected for the job, he or she will receive an email message notification.  
  7. Accept/Decline: The candidate accepts or declines a job offer. If candidate accepts the position, he or she needs to complete the onboarding paperwork.
  8. Hiring Confirmation Checklist: The accepted candidate will receive a new hiring email and checklist from Russellville Independent School District detailing onboarding procedures and further steps.
  9. Fees associated with Criminal Records 
    • $53.00 Criminal Background Check (covered by RISD)
    • $10.00 Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) Check Instructions
    • RISD does collect this fee. It is paid to the administering vendor.
  10. Picking Up Benefits Information and Paperwork Finalization: The candidate can schedule benefits information and paperwork finalization through the new hire checklist.
