The Community Education Department at Russellville Independent School District (RISD) is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment where schools, families, students, and community partners work together to support the educational growth and well-being of all community members.

Mission

The mission of Community Education is to encourage and facilitate collaboration between schools, families, students, and community partners with the shared mission of educating all members of the community. We believe that by working together, we can create a stronger, more inclusive educational experience that benefits everyone.

  • Foster Collaboration: Strengthen partnerships between schools, families, students, and community organizations to support educational initiatives and community development.
  • Promote Lifelong Learning: Provide educational opportunities for all community members, from early childhood through adulthood, to encourage continuous personal and professional growth.
  • Enhance Student Achievement: Support programs and activities that directly contribute to the academic success and well-being of our students.
  • Community Engagement: Increase community involvement in school activities and decision-making processes to ensure that the educational needs of all members are met.
  • Resource Sharing: Facilitate the sharing of resources and expertise among schools, families, and community partners to enhance educational programs and services.
  • Support Services: Offer support services that address the diverse needs of our students and families, promoting a healthy, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

 

Our Programs

The Community Education Department provides a variety of programs and services designed to engage and support the entire community. These include:

  • Community Classes: A range of classes and workshops for community members of all ages, focusing on topics such as health and wellness, financial literacy, technology, and more.
  • Partnership Development: Initiatives to build and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and agencies to support educational programs and services.
